Congratulations to all of the members of Mirror Images Synchronized Skating Teams and their families for a wonderful season! The Open-Juvenile team finished in 2nd in the Eastern Challenge Series out of 13 teams and will receive silver medals. The Pre-Juvenile team participated in the Eastern Challenge Series for the first time this season and finished 6th out of 14. Way to go Mirror Images!
Both the Open-Juvenile and Pre-Juvenile teams competed on March 17th at the CNY Spring Skate Challenge in Cicero, NY. The Open-Juvenile team finished first and the Pre-Juvenile team finished in second. This was the final competitve event for the Mirror Images and it capped of a wonderful season. The teams were joined by the Thomas Creek Ice Arena Learn-to-Skate Beginner 1 Team who finished in third.
The Pre-Juvenile team competed at the Port City Invitational held March 2nd, 2013 in Oswego, NY and finished first in their division to bring home the trophy. The skaters were very happy with their performance and their improved speed. Both MI teams are getting ready for an Amerks Exhibition and their final competition at the Central NY Spring Skate Challenge.
Both the Pre-Juvenile and Open-Juvenile teams placed first in their respective divisions at the 5th Annual Reflections Synchronized Skating Invitational held in Hershey, PA on February 17th. This is third gold medal in three consecutive weeks for the Open-Juvenile team. The teams cheered for one another from the stands and enjoyed all the sweets from trips to Chocolate World. This was the final event for both teams in the Eastern Challenge Series.
The Mirror Images Open Juvenile Synchronized Skating team won gold at the Eastern Sectional Synchronized Skating Championship held in Lake Placid, New York January 31st through February 2nd, 2013. The Open-Juvenile team finished first in the Championship round and beat out 25 other teams from the East coast to claim the division title. The Pre-Juvenile team finished third in their qualifying round and 7th in the championship round out of 28 teams. The Eastern Sectionals in the largest synchronized skating event during the season where teams must place in the top four in the qualifying round to be able to advance to the final rounds of competition. The top four teams in the championship round qualify for nationals and the State Games of America depending on their level.
Members of the Pre-Juv team skated their way to a first place finish at their first competition of the season. The Open-Juvenile team put on an performance to gear up for competition. Both teams received critiques from the judges and are hard at work before their next event.
