Congratulations to all of the members of Mirror Images Synchronized Skating Teams and their families for a wonderful season!  The Open-Juvenile team finished in 2nd in the Eastern Challenge Series out of 13 teams and will receive silver medals.  The Pre-Juvenile team participated in the Eastern Challenge Series for the first time this season and finished 6th out of 14.  Way to go Mirror Images!

Want to join the Mirror Images?

Mirror Images is looking for new members, of all ages and abilities, to expand our teams.  If you missed our tryouts, please email our general manager to schedule an alternate time.  Skaters should have passed USFS Basic 6.  We are also looking for collegiate and adult skaters to form competitive teams in the Rochester area.  Again, please email the general manager if you are interested in joining a team at one of these levels.  We are looking for students at local colleges to assist us in recuriting skaters on campus to form a united Rochester team.

CNY Spring Skate Challenge

Both the Open-Juvenile and Pre-Juvenile teams competed on March 17th at the CNY Spring Skate Challenge in Cicero, NY.  The Open-Juvenile team finished first and the Pre-Juvenile team finished in second.  This was the final competitve event for the Mirror Images and it capped of a wonderful season.  The teams were joined by the Thomas Creek Ice Arena Learn-to-Skate Beginner 1 Team who finished in third.

Port City Invitational

The Pre-Juvenile team competed at the Port City Invitational held March 2nd, 2013 in Oswego, NY and finished first in their division to bring home the trophy.  The skaters were very happy with their performance and their improved speed.  Both MI teams are getting ready for an Amerks Exhibition and their final competition at the Central NY Spring Skate Challenge.

Reflections Synchronized Skating Invitational

Both the Pre-Juvenile and Open-Juvenile teams placed first in their respective divisions at the 5th Annual Reflections Synchronized Skating Invitational held in Hershey, PA on February 17th.  This is third gold medal in three consecutive weeks for the Open-Juvenile team.  The teams cheered for one another from the stands and enjoyed all the sweets from trips to Chocolate World.  This was the final event for both teams in the Eastern Challenge Series.

Empire State Games

The Mirror Images Open-Juvenile team captured the gold medal at the Empire State Games held Saturday, February 9th, 2013 in Lake Placid, NY.  The team was pleased with their performance and celebrated afterwards with family and friends.  Several Mirror Images members also competed individually and medaled.  Congratulations to all who attended.

2013 Eastern Sectional Synchronized Championships

The Mirror Images Open Juvenile Synchronized Skating team won gold at the Eastern Sectional Synchronized Skating Championship held in Lake Placid, New York January 31st through February 2nd, 2013.  The Open-Juvenile team finished first in the Championship round and beat out 25 other teams from the East coast to claim the division title.  The Pre-Juvenile team finished third in their qualifying round and 7th in the championship round out of 28 teams.  The Eastern Sectionals in the largest synchronized skating event during the season where teams must place in the top four in the qualifying round to be able to advance to the final rounds of competition.  The top four teams in the championship round qualify for nationals and the State Games of America depending on their level.

29th Annual Colonial Classic

Both MI teams attended the 29th Annual Colonial Classic in Lowell, MA January 4th-6th.  The Pre-Juvenile team faced tough competition and finished in 4th.  The Open-Juvenile team skated well and finished in 3rd.  This was the second competition in the Challenge Series for the teams.  Both teams are eager to work hard for the upcoming Eastern Sectionals.

Cape Cod Classic

Both the Open-Juv and Pre-Juv teams had strong finishes at the 2012 Cape Cod Classic held December 8th & 9th in Bourne, MA.  For many on the PJ team this was their first travel event.  Pre-Juvenile finished in 3rd and Open-Juvenile finished in 2nd.  Team members were thrilled with their performances and are eager to continue with the rest of the season.  This was the first event in the Eastern Challenge Series for both teams.

2012-2013 Season Begins!


Members of the Pre-Juv team skated their way to a first place finish at their first competition of the season.  The Open-Juvenile team put on an performance to gear up for competition.  Both teams received critiques from the judges and are hard at work before their next event.
