2016 Eastern Sectionals

Both Mirror Images Open Juvenile teams competed at the 2016 US Figure Skating Eastern Sectional Synchronized Skating Champions held in Richmond VA from January 28th-January 31st. Teams from Maine to South Carolina participate in the championships with certain levels advancing to Nationals. Open-Juvenile had the largest turnout with 28 teams - with 3 qualifying rounds.


The Purple Open-Juvenile team took 4th in their qualifying round and in the finals finished 5th overall.


The Silver Open-Juvenile team started off strong and finished 2nd in their qualifying round. Finishing 7th overall.


Congratulations ladies on finishing in the top 10 on the Eastern Coast!


The Open-Collegiate team finished 6th in a tight competition.  Congrats to all teams, skaters and families for a successful event! 

2014 Eastern Sectionals

Both Mirror Images teams competed at the 2014 US Figure Skating Eastern Sectional Synchronized Skating Champions held in Hershey, PA from January 27th-February 1st. This was the largest event ever with 156 teams at different levels and ages. Teams from Maine to South Carolina participate in the championships with certain levels advancing to Nationals. Pre-Juvenile and Open-Juvenile had the largest turnout with 28 teams in each division.


The Open-Juvenile team won their qualifying round and in the finals finished 2nd to win the Silver medal. The Pre-Juvenile team started off strong and finished 2nd in their qualifying round. In the final round they finished 9th.


This marks three years in a row that the Mirror Images Open-Juvenile team has medaled at Eastern Sectionals. Congratulations ladies!

 

Colonial Classic

Congratulations to the Open-Juvenile team for winning their flight at the 30th Annual Colonial Classic. The competition was held in Lowell, MA at the Tsongas Arena from January 10th-12th. The Pre-Juvenile team finished in 6th in a tough competition but were pleased with their improved speed and expression.

Cape Cod Classic

The Mirror Images teams attended their first travel event of the season in Bourne, MA. This was the first event for the Eastern Challenge Series. This was the Open-Juvenile teams first competition. The team finished in 4th out of 9 teams, winning the Pewter medal. The Pre-Juvenile team finished in 5th out of 10 teams.

Skaneateles Invitiational

The Pre-Juvenile rocked the Skaneateles Invitational December 6th, 2013!  They debuted their fantastic Rock-n-Roll Mashup program for the judges and crowd. The Pre-Juvenile team finished in first and were excited to hear the judge's feedback. Congratulations team! The Open-Juvenile team also performed an exhibition as there were no other teams to compete against. Both teams are hard at work preparing for their next event.

Season Wrap Up

Congratulations to all of the members of Mirror Images Synchronized Skating Teams and their families for a wonderful season! The Open-Juvenile team finished in 2nd in the Eastern Challenge Series out of 13 teams and will receive silver medals. The Pre-Juvenile team participated in the Eastern Challenge Series for the first time this season and finished 6th out of 14. Way to go Mirror Images!

Mirror Images Out and About

Members of the Mirror Images Pre-Juv and Open-Juv teams have been on the move! Many members from both teams attended the ISU World Championships in Boston in early April. In May, skaters worked with Saga Krantz, Head Coach of the Haydenettes, at a clinic in Saratoga, NY. On the same day the Pre-Juv team performed in an exhibition with current Men's National Champion Max Aaron and former Men's National Champion Johnny Wier in Jamestown, NY. Way to go skaters!

CNY Spring Skate Challenge

Both the Open-Juvenile and Pre-Juvenile teams competed on March 17th at the CNY Spring Skate Challenge in Cicero, NY. The Open-Juvenile team finished first and the Pre-Juvenile team finished in second. This was the final competitive event for the Mirror Images and it capped of a wonderful season. The teams were joined by the Thomas Creek Ice Arena Learn-to-Skate Beginner 1 Team who finished in third.

Port City Invitational

The Pre-Juvenile team competed at the Port City Invitational held March 2nd, 2013 in Oswego, NY and finished first in their division to bring home the trophy. The skaters were very happy with their performance and their improved speed. Both MI teams are getting ready for an Amerks Exhibition and their final competition at the Central NY Spring Skate Challenge.

Mirror Images is on the News!

Stacey Pensgen, a former figure skater and reporter for Channel 8 in Rochester, interviewed the Mirror Images teams about their season, success, and the family attitude present within the teams. It was a fun experience for all involved.
